A 45-minute session that will help you understand just how beneficial Nordic walking can be and how it is far more than just walking with poles!! Get a taste of how light you will feel on your feet, how the whole body is mobilised and why you need to take the time to learn the technique.
Sam Armstrong is the Lead Instructor and owner of Coreconcept Mid Derbyshire Nordic Walking celebrating 10 years of Nordic Walking, she will be delivering the Taster session.
She is currently experiencing a high interest in Nordic Walking as people are looking for alternatives to the gym to keep fit in a fun and very sociable way that not only achieve well-being for the body but for the mind also.
Being part of the Nordic Walking community opens up a lot of new experiences with opportunities to travel around the Uk and abroad as well as discovering many local places.
Sam is delighted to be attending this year’s Well Fest Event and to continue to spread the word about Nordic Walking. Sam and her team of three Instructors and 9 Walk leaders deliver Wellbeing walks for those who prefer a more gentle pace or with a medical condition, Workout Walks with muscular strength exercises, Adventure Walks focusing on the social aspect and location, Ultimate Nordic Walking (boot camp style), Bungypump class, poles with built in resistance and soon to be Smovey classes, a unique fitness tool from Austria. All members go through a learn to Nordic Walk programme and then receive a Freedom Passport which enables you to book on all their walks plus any others around the Uk with a NWUK Instructor.
They have recently hosted the first ever Nordic Walking Festival in Derbyshire this year with Nordic Walking UK and had 300 visitors, showcasing our fabulous county with over 70 walks and workshops from Ski fit, Advanced Techniques, Pilates with poles, Rehabilitation and Speed Hiking.
Most of all, Sam has had the most amazing journey with Nordic Walking, meeting so many wonderful people, creating friendships and life long bonds. She has watched people be empowered, lose weight, gain new confidence, and simply learn to smile again. Being part of this community of walkers is something very special.
